Founded as long ago as 1880 and based in Sidcup, London, the Society continues to flourish and recruit new members.

The objects of the Society embrace the presentation of lectures and promotion of discussion on Literature, Science and Art with liberty to extend to other subjects, which have included of late, but not been limited to, Engineering, History of Art and Archaeology.
